Biography

Goce Bozurski was born in Kumanovo (Macedonia) in 1958 and obtained a degree in Art History in Skopje. Goce was curator of the Kumanovo Art Gallery from 1985 to 1989, and its director from 1989 to 1996. From 1996 to 1999 he was a director of the National Theatre of Kumanovo, and then of the National Museum of Kumanovo from 1999 to 2002, and has been an adviser in the Macedonian Ministry of Culture since then.

He has participated in several group exhibitions in Macedonia and abroad and has organised around 20 individual exhibitions (including in Skopje, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Paris, Pisa, the USA and Germany).

Goce's awards include the Konstantin Mazev Koce Award (1993 Macedonia), the Special Painting Award at the 6th International Miniature Paintings Biennale (2000 Serbia), the November Award of the City of Kumanovo (2000 Macedonia), the Dimitar Kondovski Award for Miniature Painting (2000 and 2007 Macedonia), the Metodija Ivanovski-Mende Award for Miniature Painting (2003 Macedonia) and the Golden Brush Award (2009 Macedonia).
